Still, certain music will always be associated with cannabis. For one thing, some songs explicitly mention it. For another, they have that perfect vibe that fits with kicking back and relaxing.<\/p>\n

These days, a marijuana user is more apt to be a professional loosening their tie or kicking off their heels after a long day at the office. Even so, these songs still provide a great soundtrack to unwind.<\/p>\n

Classic Rock Marijuana Songs: The List<\/h2>\n

Note that this list sticks to classic rock. Hip hop and rap provides a whole other treasure trove of marijuana songs. But that\u2019s a list for another day.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Joker,\u201d Steve Miller<\/h3>\n

We don\u2019t know what Steve Miller is talking about either. The pompetous of love? But this song<\/a> about a space cowboy and \u201cmidnight toker\u201d has been a favorite of marijuana fans for decades. A laid back vibe, and also pretty funny.<\/p>\n

\u201cRainy Day Women #12 & 35,\u201d Bob Dylan<\/h3>\n

He would not feel so all alone, everybody must get stoned. In typical Dylan fashion, it\u2019s not entirely clear where he is coming from on this song<\/a>. Also, multiply 12 by 35. Pretty weird, right?<\/p>\n

\u201cLegalize It,\u201d Peter Tosh<\/h3>\n

Nothing subtle about this one. In the late 1970s, reggae star Tosh was already calling for legalized marijuana. He offers a long list<\/a> of professionals who already use it, including judges and lawyers.<\/p>\n

\u201cHash Pipe,\u201d Weezer<\/h3>\n

Does Weezer count as classic rock? Well, it\u2019s been 16 years and this song is still heard everywhere, so yes. You\u2019ve got your problems, he\u2019s got<\/a> his hash pipe. Here\u2019s a bonus Weezer song<\/a> with pretty much the perfect vibe and sentiment. Plus cool animals.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou Don\u2019t Know How It Feels,\u201d Tom Petty<\/h3>\n

Petty has the market cornered on laid back and cool. This one,<\/a> with moonlight rides and the radio playing loud, distills the whole Petty experience into one song. Plus, there\u2019s the bit about \u201clet\u2019s roll another joint.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSweet Leaf,\u201d Black Sabbath<\/h3>\n

Probably the most famous cough in rock history opens this song. Word of warning, though. This one is only good if you like heavy metal. As usual, the guitars are thick as molasses<\/a> and Ozzy Osbourne does some quality screeching.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne Toke Over The Line,\u201d Brewer and Shipley<\/h3>\n

Honestly, this is on the list just to encourage you to watch this video<\/a> and contemplate just how long ago the 1970s were. But obviously this one is a staple of any marijuana song list.<\/p>\n

\u201cPass the Kouchie,\u201d The Mighty Diamonds<\/h3>\n

Yes, this<\/a> will sound familiar. That\u2019s because you likely heard the remake<\/a> done by Musical Youth.
