{"id":2707,"date":"2018-11-13T16:25:32","date_gmt":"2018-11-14T00:25:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dispensaries.com\/blog\/?p=2707"},"modified":"2018-11-14T07:44:29","modified_gmt":"2018-11-14T15:44:29","slug":"iron-mike-tyson-tv-sitcom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dispensaries.com\/blog\/iron-mike-tyson-tv-sitcom\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cIron Mike\u201d Tyson To Launch TV Sitcom About His Life Growing Marijuana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The premise of the new show \u201cRolling With the Punches\u201d is this: an ex-heavyweight champion becomes a marijuana farmer and hangs out with his friends.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s convenient since the star of the show, Mike Tyson, AKA &#8220;Iron Mike&#8221;, is an ex-heavyweight champion who grows marijuana and likes to hang out with his friends.<\/p>\n<p>That, of course, is the appeal of the show, which Tyson is currently trying to sell to a network.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s basically me acting like me, so people can get a look at what my life could be like in different scenarios,\u201d Tyson <u><a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2018\/10\/26\/mike-tyson-shops-tv-show-about-life-as-marijuana-grower\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a><\/u> the New York Post.<\/p>\n<h2>&#8220;Iron Mike&#8221; Life on the Ranch<\/h2>\n<p>According to the Post, the new sitcom is being shopped around to networks. It is being produced by Joe Roth, who at one point was chairman of 20th Century Fox, Caravan Pictures and Walt Disney Studios. He\u2019s also produced movie hits including \u201cYoung Guns,\u201d \u201cMajor League,\u201d \u201cWhile You Were Sleeping\u201d and \u201cMaleficent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rob Hickman, Tyson\u2019s business partner, told the Post that Roth has already made a \u201csizzle reel\u201d to show to network executives. He expects the show to begin airing by the spring of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The show centers on &#8220;Iron Mike&#8221; Tyson\u2019s real life, which involves running a marijuana-related complex and resort in California City. Calif., called Tyson Ranch. Tyson<u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dispensaries.com\/blog\/california-cannabis-resorts\/\"> broke ground<\/a><\/u> on the project in December 2017. It\u2019s on 40 acres in California City, which is 110 miles north of Los Angeles and 60 miles southwest of Death Valley National Park.<\/p>\n<p>Tyson said of the show: \u201cIt\u2019s simple. I\u2019m playing a retired boxer who is growing marijuana,\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Tyson Ranch Plans<\/h3>\n<p>Tyson has a lot of irons in the fire related to Tyson Ranch and his own brand of marijuana products. His plans include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dispensaries.com\/cultivators\">Cultivating marijuana<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Allowing growers to experiment with strains and conduct research<\/li>\n<li>Open a campground<\/li>\n<li>Build an amphitheater<\/li>\n<li>Build an edibles factory<\/li>\n<li>Create the Tyson Cultivation School to educate cannabis growers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He\u2019s also has created a brand name, Iron Mike Genetics, for his planned line of CBD-enhanced products for athletes.<\/p>\n<p>As for Tyson himself, he said he has been an advocate of marijuana for years. He told the Post, \u201cI smoke it all day, every day,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tyson Holistic will operate the ranch, <u><a href=\"https:\/\/hightimes.com\/news\/mike-tyson-is-starting-a-tv-show-about-his-life-as-a-cannabis-grower\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according <\/a><\/u>to High Times. That company, founded by Tyson, employs mostly veterans.<\/p>\n<p>Tyson faces some competition in creating his cannabis resort. The American Green company, which runs a cannabis farm near Phoenix, bought the entire town of Nipton, California, \u00a0with the intention of creating a cannabis resort. <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nipton.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nipton<\/a><\/u> is an \u201calmost-ghost town\u201d &#8211; a few people still live there.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Iron Mike&#8221; Tyson is getting his own show about growing marijuana &#038; his life on his ranch.
