In 2019, expect that to include menu items at a restaurant near you. That is if you live in a state where recreational marijuana use is legal.<\/p>\n<p>In its report on 2019 trends for restaurants, international restaurant consultants Baum and Whiteman listed dishes featuring marijuana as one of the top 12 trends of the coming year.<\/p>\n<p>Under the headline \u201cThe Inevitable Mainstreaming of Marijuana,\u201d the consulting agency <u><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.wixstatic.com\/ugd\/0c5d00_809f255d88f04f57997e6e3a886c4a7c.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported <\/a><\/u>that restaurants are \u201cjoining the fun\u201d started by beverage brands such as Constellation Brands and Heineken that are moving into marijuana-infused drinks.<\/p>\n<h2>Marijuana On The Menu<\/h2>\n<p>The moves by large companies into the marijuana-infused beverage market is driven in part by the fact that beer and soda face a \u201cshaky future\u201d because of a \u201cmassive consumer shift to hemp and marijuana drinkables,\u201d the Baum and Whiteman report stated.<\/p>\n<p>So, what does that mean for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dispensaries.com\/blog\/what-is-it-like-to-smoke-weed\/\">cannabis curious<\/a>? In addition to the ability to buy cannabis beverages at the store, they also can order marijuana dishes at local restaurants.<\/p>\n<p>The report noted that most of these menu items are using CBD, the chemical ingredient in marijuana that does not cause the high. Many advocate CBD (which stands for cannabidiol) for its reputed pain management properties. It\u2019s also used by some to treat anxiety and even depression.<\/p>\n<h3>Early Examples<\/h3>\n<p>Some restaurants have gotten ahead of the game, introducing marijuana-infused dishes onto their menus. Some examples include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Los Angeles restaurant Spring, which has a power lunch with three CBD-sprinkled courses<\/li>\n<li>The Green Goddess Cafe in Stowe, Vermont, an organic eatery that offers latte infused with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dispensaries.com\/cbd\">CBD oil<\/a> and CBD-infused tonic juices<\/li>\n<li>Panacea in Henderson, Nevada, which offers CBD-infused pancake syrup<\/li>\n<li>Vegan caf\u00e9 Harlow in Portland, Oregon, which adds CBD to its smoothies for an extra $3<\/li>\n<li>Juice Crafters in Los Angeles sells CBD teas<\/li>\n<li>By Chloe, a New York City vegan chain, sells Mary Jane ice cream cake with CBD-infused frosting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The report said early adopters to this trend among consumers are primarily Millennials, vegans, vegetarians, the wellness crowd and \u201cWall Streeters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rest of us will follow,\u201d the report stated.<\/p>\n<h3>Do Try This at Home<\/h3>\n<p>Of course, many among the cannabis curious would rather take a culinary adventure of their own. If that\u2019s the case, consider picking up the recently released <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Bong-App%C3%A9tit-Mastering-Cooking-Weed\/dp\/0399580107\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cBong App\u00e9tit: Mastering the Art of Cooking with Weed.\u201d<\/a><\/u> The cookbook features recipes from the \u201cBong Appetit\u201d show on Viceland.<\/p>\n<p>Featured menu recipes include marijuana-infused butter-basted chicken, chimichurri and brownie sundaes. The book is billed as \u201cthe \u2018Joy of Cooking\u2019 for a new generation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another notable cannabis cookbook is \u201c<u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Herb-Mastering-Art-Cooking-Cannabis-ebook\/dp\/B015LRLRBC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Herb: Mastering the Art of Cooking With Cannabis<\/a><\/u>\u201d by chefs Melissa Parks and Laurie Wolf.
