The 2020 SXSW conference will include 30 panels, podcasts, and meetup sessions as part of its \u201cCannabusiness\u201d track.<\/p>\n<p>Organizers chose those session topics from more than 150 suggestions submitted. On the SXSW website, organizers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sxsw.com\/conference\/cannabusiness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wrote<\/a> that the sessions are designed for \u201cprofessionals experienced in this rapidly-evolving industry, as well as introductions for newcomers who are just starting to enter this space.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Cannabis Speakers at SXSW<\/h2>\n<p>Organizers have lined up an interesting group of cannabis experts as speakers. They include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cat Packer, executive director of the Los Angeles Cannabis Department of Cannabis Regulation<\/li>\n<li>Steve DeAngelo, chairman emeritus of Harborside, Inc.<\/li>\n<li>Cassandra Farrington, CEO and co-founder of Marijuana Business Daily.<\/li>\n<li>Mary Pryor, co-founder of Cannaclusive<\/li>\n<li>Eleanor Kuntz, co-founder and CEO of LeafWorks<\/li>\n<li>Kris Krane, president of 4Front Ventures<\/li>\n<li>Tahira Rehmatullah, managing director of Hypur Ventures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Two sessions have been highlighted as Discover 2020 sessions. One is called \u201cThe Future of Cannabis is Colored\u201d and focuses on creating an equitable cannabis industry that supports those impacted by the War on Drugs. Panelists include Christine De La Rosa of the People\u2019s Dispensary, Wanda James of Simply Pure and Melek Dexter of Re-Up.<\/p>\n<p>The second is called Navigating an Emerging <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dispensaries.com\/cannabis-infused-beverages\">Cannabis Beverage<\/a> Market and will feature a panel of beverage makers, scientists, end-users and others from across the cannabis beverage supply chain.<\/p>\n<p>Other <a href=\"https:\/\/schedule.sxsw.com\/2020\/events\/track\/Cannabusiness\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sessions <\/a>cover a wealth of topics. Among them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cBlazing Trails: Marketing in the Cannabis Space\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cCannabis in Canada: What We\u2019ve Learned.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cCash in King, But Credit Is Power.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cFuture of CBD: Health, Research and Beauty Trends\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIs Cannabis Media Coverage Fair or Biased.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The SXSW Conference<\/h2>\n<p>Founded in 1987, SXSW (South by Southwest) has become famous for putting together festivals that \u201ccelebrate convergence\u201d of the worlds of film, music, interactive and comedy. The conferences bring together creative thinkers and leaders in many industries.<\/p>\n<p>SXSW events draw both experienced professionals and \u201cnewbies\u201d who want to learn the latest in their specific industry while also getting the chance to network with top minds from around the globe.<\/p>\n<p>The event features hundreds of sessions that are grouped in 20 conference tracks.
