Research and science may be years behind in proving the benefit of medicinal marijuana or cannabinoid applications for children. \u00a0But who can argue with the many testimonials so many amazing groups like the project Face of Cannabis are working to spotlight?<\/p>\n

Medicinal Marijuana<\/h2>\n

Last week we explored a group that the media has coined Pot Moms<\/a>. \u00a0 This week we\u2019re looking at kids. \u00a0We’re looking, in\u00a0particular, at the many, many kids whose lives have been drastically improved by cannabis. \u00a0Children like Teresa whose parents had tried everything.<\/p>\n

Teresa, featured Face of Cannabis from ‘Face of Cannabis’ project, which aims to raise awareness and facilitate change amid use of cannabis oil.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Within days of birth, Teresa was diagnosed with Wolf Hirshhorn Syndrome<\/a>, a rare and serious chromosomal abnormality which, among many other afflictions, resulted in\u00a0\u00a0failure\u00a0to thrive, congenital heart disease, microcephaly and hypotonia and ultimately resulted in a life of seizure after seizure, according to her parents.<\/p>\n

At a time when Teresa’s parents might have otherwise been considering preschools and play-dates, Teresa’s team of medical professionals instead were encouraging her parents\u00a0“to just focus on quality of life.”<\/p>\n

“We were literally waiting for the next seizure to take her from us,” her mother shares.<\/p>\n

Teresa’s mother, after years of doctor prescribed medications, therapies diets and dosage research, ordered and tried hemp oil. \u00a0She describes experiencing, within days, drastic improvements in Teresa’s seizing and progress on her developmental abilities. \u00a0“I took this information back to her Dr,” Teresa’s mother explains, “and I was threatened with CPS, I was told that what I was doing was illegal. After standing my ground and explaining to her Dr in the nicest way possible to go educate herself I continued to give her Hemp Oil regardless.”<\/p>\n

Face of Cannabis<\/h3>\n

On Face of Cannabis, a project<\/a> started by Nichole Montanez, the aunt of a child with Dravet Syndrome, a black and white gallery of gorgeous children crushes, with force, the notion that medicinal marijuana is anything but a treatment worthy of very serious respect, consideration and continued research.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re a diverse nation. \u00a0The make up of those embracing cannabis is no different. \u00a0Those embracing marijuana for its medicinal value or enjoying it recreationally, legally in states like Oregon and Colorado, are wildly diverse.
