Research to Focus on Pain, Mental Health<\/h2>\n

One area of research that the funding will support is the use of cannabis to treat chronic pain. Chronic pain affects millions of people worldwide. In many cases it is debilitating, limiting a person’s ability to perform daily tasks and reducing their quality of life. Studies have shown that cannabis can be an effective treatment for chronic pain<\/a>, with some patients reporting significant pain relief after using cannabis.<\/p>\n

The UCLA cannabis research will delve into the potential therapeutic uses of cannabis in treating chronic pain, as well as the underlying mechanisms that make it effective. They will also look at the potential risks associated with long-term cannabis use, such as addiction, impaired cognitive function, and the potential for the development of other medical conditions.<\/p>\n

Another area of research that the funding will support is the use of cannabis in treating mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression. Many people use cannabis to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression, but research will focus in part on the long-term effects.<\/p>\n

Investigating the Impact of Cannabis<\/h3>\n
