This week (well, most weeks really… let’s be honest<\/em>) we\u2019re exploring the question, Where Is Marijuana Not A Drug and fun\u00a0facts about its impact on health and society. The hardest part about this task is finding just one fun pot fact to share.<\/p>\n

Marijuana Not A Drug<\/h2>\n

See, as we’ve mentioned before, there\u2019s so much misunderstanding out there still about what marijuana does to the body and how it works. Marijuana myths<\/a> have been perpetuated in the United States by politics and misguided economics\u00a0for decades.<\/p>\n

But what about elsewhere?<\/p>\n

North Korean Pot Smoking<\/h3>\n

Did you know that in North Korea marijuana is, reportedly, not even considered a drug? \u00a0Yep. \u00a0Fun fact numero uno today:\u00a0 In North Korea..Marijuana not a drug.<\/p>\n

We loved this Vice.com article about how North Korea Smokes Weed Every Day<\/a>, Explaining a Lot\u00a0that gives mention to marijuana being grown openly and along roadsides. \u00a0Its author likens smoking weed, for North Korean laborers, to having a Budweiser after a hard day’s work.<\/p>\n

Marijuana Not A Drug… Just A Plant<\/h3>\n

Huffington Post has likewise previously reported that\u00a0Kim Jong Un’s regime does not even consider it a drug. Drugs in North Korea, the ones that get you shot to death by a firing squad<\/a>, are what we might call the hard stuff. Like meth. Huffington Post wrote<\/a>, “With regards to marijuana in North Korea, it’s as good as legal – there’s no great stigma about it, nor does it have the sort of fetish that surrounds it in the West, which probably stems from its illegal status here,” a source in the article states.<\/p>\n

Not that North Korea is anywhere we’d want, under any circumstances, to inhabit. \u00a0But isn’t it interesting that an area riddled with corruption and blatant disregard for human rights has deemed our little plant just that. \u00a0It’s just a plant.\u00a0 Marijuana not a drug.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
